A Day of Care and Compassion in Kafur, Katsina State
On a bright day in Kafur, Katsina State, something special happened. Men, women, youths, and children gathered with a shared hope — access to care, reassurance, and better health. That hope was met through a medical outreach organized by the Arewa Women and Youth Support Initiative (AWAYSI), in partnership with Arewa Central Pharmacy Limited.
From early hours, community members arrived one after another. Mothers came with their children, elderly men waited patiently, and young people showed up eager to learn more about their health. For many, this outreach was more than just a medical exercise — it was an opportunity to be seen, heard, and cared for.
By the end of the day, about 250 people had benefited from the outreach. Each person attended to represented a story, a family, and a step toward a healthier community. The diversity of beneficiaries — men, women, youths, and children — reflected the inclusive spirit behind the initiative.
With the support of Arewa Central Pharmacy Limited, medical support and guidance were provided to those in need. Beyond treatment, conversations about healthy living, prevention, and well-being filled the space, leaving many with renewed confidence and awareness about their health.
For AWAYSI, the outreach in Kafur reaffirmed a simple but powerful truth: when healthcare is brought closer to the people, lives are touched in meaningful ways. It was a reminder that community development begins with care and compassion.
As we look ahead, AWAYSI remains committed to reaching more communities, strengthening partnerships, and continuing initiatives that place people — especially women, youths, and vulnerable groups — at the heart of development.
Because a healthier community is a stronger community.
