Having carefully and extensively researched into the plight of women and youths in the region, AWAYSI discovered that the moral decadence among the women and youths is not unconnected with high unemployment rate, lack of adequate information on how to venture into small-scale businesses that can boost their economy as well as inadequate information about the use of modern technology for productive purposes. Arewa Women and Youths Support Initiative (AWAYSI) was established considering the high level of poverty and unemployment among the teaming women and youths in northern Nigeria.
