Empowering 80 Participants Through Vaseline Production Training.

On April 13th, 2026, the Arewa Women and Youths Support Initiative (AWAYSI) successfully conducted a hands-on training session on Vaseline production for 80 participants at its training centre, located within the organization’s office premises.

The training brought together enthusiastic youths and women eager to acquire practical skills that can serve as a source of income and self-reliance. As part of AWAYSI’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities, this session focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and techniques required to produce quality petroleum jelly (Vaseline) using accessible materials.

Throughout the training, participants were guided step-by-step through the production process, ensuring that each attendee gained both theoretical understanding and practical experience. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to ask questions, practice the process, and build confidence in their newly acquired skill.

Speaking during the training, facilitators emphasized the importance of small-scale production skills in fostering entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment. Participants were also encouraged to leverage this skill as a starting point for establishing small businesses within their communities.

The event marked another milestone in AWAYSI’s mission to promote self-sufficiency among youths and women. By providing access to skill-based training such as this, the organization continues to create opportunities for economic empowerment and sustainable development.

Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the training has opened up new possibilities for income generation and personal growth.

AWAYSI remains dedicated to organizing impactful programs that transform lives and strengthen communities across the region.
